I’ve just checked the varnish (5:16pm) and it’s still very sticky.
Very very sticky.
I recon it’s gonna be at least another day.
(But that’s an uneducated guess.)
The floor oil and wall oil seem to be in the same state of wetness / stickiness /dryness. So I don’t think it’s because (some of it) is a different product (eg not the floor oil).
There was no overlying or mixing of the products.
We did a panel at a time. And no one panel had two products on it.
Thinking back I’m not sure we may have been aware of exactly how long the 2nd coat took to dry in the messy room as it was done on a Sunday and was maybe undisturbed for a few days.
Any one remember how long the 2nd coat in messy took?
I think it was as much on the walls after the first coat as after the 2nd coat.
It wasn’t “all over the walls” as much as “there was some vanish at the very bottom of the walls where the floors meet the walls”. Well it was like that when we left it.
No one had mentioned it as a problem after the first coat and there had been no masking done on the first coat so I didn’t know it was a problem.
Obviously, if we knew that was a problem we wouldn’t have done that.
But sorry if that has caused an issue.
Are the walls not being varnished then?
Can we / should we do something to correct that?
Will it be noticeably behind benches and other equipment?
I think they should be oiled up in general, lets get a couple cans of the cheaper osmo and finish them up. It’l look nice and we wont have to worry in general.
