Who is interested in leather craft?

@Martyn_Thomas and I went to the leather shop JT Batchelor in Dalston yesterday.

Great place and cheap. They have a few off-cut bins that are great for small projects.

I got these 2 pieces for about £15, a strap cutter and some bits and pieces for a project I am working on.

Hi. I have no experience working with leather but I
am definitely interested!

Tuesday 29th has unfortunately already been booked for laser induction.
Would Tuesday 6th of December work instead?

Sorry but I wouldn’t be able to make 6th December as I will be in the Crafts and textiles workshop.
Not a problem if I’m the only one that can’t make the 6th as I will keep an eye out for, hopefully ; ), future workshops.

Hi Julia,

Sorry for the late response. I’m happy to come by and teach people about this craft. Is the date for this the 6th confirmed?

Best,

Louis.

Sorry, I’ll be out of the country… But have fun!!!

I’m going to be in the space on Tuesday doing some (basic) leather work (need to make a pouch for Xmas)

As Textile Club is first Tuesday of the month, how about we make it a regular thing on the second Tuesday of the month?

Hi all, sorry for the confusion, the 6th is also taken.

Let’s try this again:

Friday 2nd and Monday 5th are free. When can you do?

  • Friday, 2nd of Dezember
  • Monday, 5th of December

Looks like the 6th is the most popular day. I won’t be able to make it but I can put it into the calendar and you could organise yourselves?

First leather project done - yes the off-centre stamping bothers me…

Will need to make more soon.

When shall we all meet up to craft together?

nive! Drop me a message tomorrow and I’ll look up my leathercraft books, or if you’ll be at the space in the weekend with some leather and a scalpel I’ll show you how to make a nice braid to cover the stitches.

I need to get the pouch into the post ASAP as it’s a secret Santa (and postie strikes are looming) - however let’s arrange a Leather Crafting evening soon

I saw some good steel in the pile, we can make some awls, handles can be woodturned. And we have a box of marking stars in the old woodshop, we just need to make a couple holders for them.
