(Almost) impossible 3D printing project

This is a fun little projects that tests your 3D printer.

You can find the g-code generator for it here.

It prints a small circle on the base and then goes slowly upwards to create a pin that supports a sphere printed on top of that.

I tend to try to make things as easy as possible for my prints. I have really bad memories of what happens when 3d printing goes wrong.

That’s terrifying!

That was the day I learned to double check that you have the right filament selected in your slicer, and not just start a 10 hour print and immediately go to bed. The blob, with the hot end still trapped inside of it lives on a shelf in our living room now looking like a mini version of the elephant foot at Chernobyl.
