At the urging of the woodtechs, we are making a video version of the Woodshop Basic Induction. We anticipate two, 3-hour sessions to shoot the footage. The first will be this Sunday, 28 May from 1 - 4 PM. Due to the need for quiet conditions (ha ha under a railway arch) and the space taken up by lights, sound and camera equipment, normal work in the wood shop will not be possible at that time. Sorry if that disrupts anyone’s making activity - it is hard to find times when all the video crew and woodwork inductors are available, but I know this cuts into productive project time for members. I am posting this so people don’t arrive and be disappointed, we just fixed the shoot time and I posted this as soon as I could.
In consolation, it is hoped that the videos will greatly reduce the time taken to induct new members, and free up shop space as a result in future.
ah, it’s because you hadn’t linked your discourse and membership accounts. I’ve just done that for you, so once the system catches up with itself, you’ll be able to see the members-only areas
not that the thread in question really needs to be secret anyway. I’ve moved it back to the public side
Yeah, that’s realistic, good call. Sorry I could not see your announcement previously, so thought I had forgotten to ask you. I don’t want to knock out a whole Sunday afternoon of wood working time, but we will have three solid hours of shoot time if we can set up first.
