At the moment, we’ve hit a bit of an obstacle in arch 2 where we now have lots of metal scrap sitting around and nobody able to take it to the scrapyard. We COULD get the scrap people to come and collect but they tend to give you massively reduced prices vs. if you drop it in (£45 / ton vs £180 / ton at one place I called) so it would be better if we could drop it off ourselves and get some money for it.
There’s probably less than one full transit van full of stuff, perhaps 2-3 trips in a medium car, and help available for loading / unloading
That would be great - if you’ve got any availability you can DM me, I live round the corner so any day other than wednesdays I can come round and help out.
In the meantime I’ll try to weigh the scrap we do have, to make sure we’re not holding up construction over a £50 difference in price
I am happy to help I can do Sunday (not sure when the scrapyard is open). I also can do Saturday morning/noon. I have a driver’s license but have not changed it to a British one yet. So I think I cannot rent a car.
The local scrapyard is open until 1pm on Saturdays, it’s called Gordon Grove and it’s round the corner near Camberwell - to be clear, the directors have already said they’ll pay back the cost of hiring a van
If Saturday morning works I can be sure to be in the space then to help out
