Unfortunately the shutter motor has eaten its own cable again. Until we can get the shutter working again we have to close arch one.

We’ll try and source a new motor by Wednesday and fit it.
If anyone’s available with transport and a desperate urge to go and get a new motor tomorrow it will be much appreciated.
@danielbeaton has the extra large van tomorrow for collecting duct from Leicester. Where would the motor need to be collected from and what time do they open and close?
Or what motor is needed and I’ll try to find one.

i have an eye on the thread, too. Depending on timing / location I can bring it to the space today.
I vaguely remember that last time we were at a point that IF the cable gets chewed up again we should be odering a whole new shutter. The one we have was already acquired as second hand and was fixed and broken countless times by today. Arch2 shutter was brought and installed by company selling and delivering it in a day.
Yes, it seems to keep breaking, will speak with Joe on if we can rebuild it to be reliable or if we should get a new one…
One motor a year for six years is probably significantly less than a new shutter
Replacing the clips is a matter of finding someone keen and competent

I want to replace the motor like for like and thus go to the same company I went to last time and they’re in Dagenham was unable to get hold of them today we’ll try again in the morning.
It’s far more likely to be Wednesday morning as I’ve got to come back to strip the shutter to get the exact motor number unless of course they can remember me
If I can pick up first thing Wednesday morning that would work at my end. My car is also registered to my mums blue badge so no congestion charge.
