Hi there!
I rashly bought a 10” bandsaw as a Christmas present to myself, but am increasingly aware that I don’t really have the space to store or use it at home. Would SLMS be keen to accept it as a long term loan? New in box.

What brand is it?
@metal are looking for one I think
It’s a Ferrex, I got it in Aldi.
If we did take on long-term loan I very much doubt you’d get it back in one piece, cheap tools was fine for DIY use have very short life expectancy in the makerspace.
We often use them as an interim measure whilst we have an Infinite debate . But they usually leave the space worn out and broken. The sander in the Wood workshop is the notable exception, but the bearings have been replaced on that several times.
So the wood workshops perspective is probably no as as we try and acquire industrial tools
Hello! If you’re still keen to loan it out, my flat mate and I could be interested
If it’s made for metal, and the owner is not worried about it’s condition month of abuse later we’re glad to adopt it. ( it will be used and ammortisated). I have my spare angle grinder at the space I was not able to kill with years of massive abuse ( it was even dropped of from the top of a church tower and survived it without a crack) I’m testing how long it will last. )
