Hello fellow Makers, I am Paul

Good Afternoon,

I attended the open night last night and really enjoyed seeing the space, specifically loved your wood working shop!!!

I am originally from Australia and have been here almost 5 years. One the things I found hardest moving to London is that growing up I had access to a very wide range of tools thanks to my father rebuilding many houses and generally having a passion for building things himself, I remember in my first apartment in London and time that I didn’t even have screwdriver

Professionally I am a Software Engineer (c#) and an Systems Administrator. I have experience in 3d CAD and enjoy 3d Printing, Wood working, Electronics engineering. I am also a maintainer in an opensource community.

I enjoy BBQing, tinkering, and generally having a Chat. When I lived in Aus started a small Brewery (Biggest day we made 400L of beer) sometimes I worry that there isn’t enough time for the Hobbies I would love to get into.

I have a few personal projects on the go at the minute

  • Building a portable folding picnic table
  • Automation a hydroponics system I built over lockdown to grow herbs and veg
  • Coffee Table
  • Repairing and reinforcing some old Dining room chairs
  • Automated Coal BBQ temperature controller

I look forward to joining SLMS and becoming part of your community

Welcome Paul!

Hopefully you noticed the brewery (Canopy) just 2 doors down!

Cheers,

It was an invite to that brewery that I spotted the Makerspace! I knew of Makerspaces from a retro computer club in Swindon so you can imagine my excitement seeing a local one in south London and good beverages next door!
