My name is Stefano and I am incredibly happy to have found this space in my search for a shared workshop. SLMS sounds just amazing.
I am a total beginner, very interested in carpentry and woodwork in general. Just took a course at the Good Life Centre and made a box, and I do not want to stop now. So, the main question I have is: am I still ok to join this community? I would be coming to learn, listen, and test things out, but I am afraid I do not have much to offer in exchange for the topic. Not at the beginning, at least.
Either way is nice to know that this space exists. I will anyway come to visit at the first opportunity.

Welcome to the Maker Space! I’m pretty much a beginner too. I’m about to do a course at the Good Life centre and I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it.
If you want to come down and take a look around we have an open evening every two weeks on a Wednesday. The next one is due on the 2nd Nov but there is nothing in the calendar yet so keep an eye out. @Shaz92 you’re very welcome too!
I don’t believe we have a waiting list yet so if you’ve answered your questionnaire that was sent to you (check your trash) there shouldn’t be any problem with progressing to fully paid up members.
The course was great, but felt like an appetiser (a bit rushed at the end too!). What prompted the search for a space like this is exactly the need I feel to refine and finalise my box, other than trying things by myself.
Great to hear that my case is not too rare, and that other beginners are looking for a jump in the creative unknown (yet)! @Shaz92, I look forward to compare notes with you!
I will do my best to be there in November, in the meantime, if useful, I forgot to share that I am a project manager with nearly 20 years of experience, and would be happy to support the space in anyway it can be useful for its management.
