Hi all, I’ve just signed up today and I’m very excited to get cracking on stuff!
Current projects in my head involve woodworking, textiles and metal working.
I’m a software dev by trade (python, backend web frameworks etc) and a glutton by conviction- current ongoing projects here include wine making, lacto-fermenting, cheese making, sausage and charcuterie and so on and so forth.
I don’t know if we have/want a food/drink lab/shop/kitchen, but if we do then sign me up!
I think you forgot to mention you’re slashing people in half by swords…
I’m curious about the culinary making, have been wanting to make wheels of parmesano or pecorino since I made some mozzarella year and a half ago or so.
Ha, thanks Petra! I should clarify here for those of you who’ve not met me.
I was down at the space earlier today making scabbards for a sword and dagger (massive thanks to Ryan for supervising and operating all the power tools etc!)
Said sword and dagger are used in historical fencing (www.the1595.co.uk. The times and locations are out of date though)
Culinary making definitely appeals, I’ve made a few cheeses before, but nothing aged. Likewise, I’ve done some bacons/jerky/biltong in the past, but nothing more exciting.
Now that I’ve made sausages though, salami is firmly on the list!
Also love it that you’re into metalwork and history.
I was up at the London Sculpture Workshop yesterday and love history - I volunteer at British Museum, off to see Stonehenge ex on Wed, supposed to be some cool metal items in that!
I used to do field archery & martial arts inc tai chi sword, would have loved to do some historic re-enactments back then.
So I look forward to meeting in person
