Hi I'm Chris

Hello,
I dropped in to the open evening last week and my DD has now cleared so I’m saying hi.
Hoping to make a few projects at the space, the first being an arduino based 3D scanner.

I work in Animation and VR by day, and I’m happy to share any knowledge if it helps other makers.
Looking forward to meeting you all,
Chris.

Hi Chris R, Chris R here

Welcome! Sounds like an exciting project. The mostly regular thursday Electronics Evening might be of interest if you wanted to work on your arduino project surrounded by other people also working on electronics projects (or, in my case, tinkering with something but probably making little progress)! Also if you fancied, the #projects would benefit from some pictures of what you’ve achieved at the space!

See you around!

as Chris R says ?!?!? Thursday is the best night for Electronics and Arduino etc

I built the Ciclop 3D Scanner a while back, was good fun and the results weren’t too bad !
I also managed to single-handedly scan my own head using an Xbox Kinect, a broom and my office swivel chair

Courty

Even managed to fine the lo-res 2d file…

That looks great Courty . I’m building one of these,

which is a cheaper version of an industrial scanning arm like a Microscribe or a Faro.
It’s not an instant scanner like the kinect, more of a 3d digital caliper, but it should have sub-mm acuracy.
All I need to do is figure out how to get inducted to use the laser cutter, then I’d like to drop in one
thursday to assemble and test it
