Laptop booting issues

Hi guys,

I’m recently having issues with my laptop on boot phase. It’s a dual boot linux/win10.
Can anybody help me if i bring it to the space? @emuboy during an electronic night perhaps?

Thanks
Federico

If you tell me more, maybe I can help you before that?

Hi Andrea,

Short story… The dual boot doesn’t work, i have to choose manually the os every time via boot loader and recently the laptop is struggling to show me the bootloader on boot.
I can see in the bios a double boot for linux ( from the previous installation) but i don’t know how to remove it

Thanks,
Federico

Seems like you have some garbage in your /EFI/ partition, some bios tend to index the uefi binaries, have a look at this thread:

https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/205177/how-to-clean-up-bootloaders-uefi-entries-from-other-installs

Fair warning, make a backup of your files and if this is your only machine, perhaps prepare an usb flash drive with Ubuntu installed so you can book back up if you need.

Nowadays I don’t do much hands on support for Linux installation, but I can point you in the right direction of you have problems
