I’m getting the following errors with the Trotec - been trying to troubleshoot for a while but nothing changes. The lid is properly closed and I’ve restarted the whole machine and PC countless of times… Thoughts on what is going wrong?
I’ve noticed that the laser is not homing at all upon startup and I can’t move it manually via the touch pad (nor Ruby)
Open the front hatch (which you open to get to the honeycomb tray) and re-close it, make sure it’s shut on both sides (sometimes it’s not closed properly)
Ah I didn’t try to open/shut the front hatch, I thought only the top lid had interlock/sensors.
I had to leave so let’s see if the next person has any better success.
And yes I was signed in on the tool control and turned the laser on and off (detected/validated by the software as connecting/being active).
Will likely be back at the laser cutter on Monday, in case no one gets to play with it before then…! Will keep you posted, thanks for the help!
I had exactly that issue recently. The laser wouldn’t home, even after restarting. The front hatch seemed to be properly and firmly closed. As Martyn suggests, opening and very firmly reclosing the front hatch solved it. The latch and sensor could perhaps benefit from a bit of attention and adjustment, but can get by as it is and just have to learn the quirks.
