Hello @lasertechs,
What are the rules on etching (not cutting) a steel thermos? Is this a thing we can do on the laser cutter?
Thanks!

Metals of course have reflectivity problems but see https://discourse.southlondonmakerspace.org/t/pledge-drive-metal-laser-etching/12071
You can get anodizing paste, thin it with IPA, let dry, then etch. Don’t worry about reflectivity …
Use some cermark and it will come out a treat! I have a bit left if you would like to try. Depending on your laser settings you will end up with something from a dark grey to almost black marking.
I’d really appreciate it if I could try some out!do you know when you’ll be in the space next?
