Hi all,

I’m Lewis.

I’ll be moving to Herne Hill in just under a month so hoping to make the Makerspace my second home.

I’ve previously made my own banjo and want to learn some more advanced woodworking techniques to help improve my very basic luthier abilities and perhaps start to work on a broader range of woodworking projects and beyond!

I’m a Graphic designer by trade and am I’m into making of all sorts and am looking forward to getting involved and learning lots.

Welcome to Makerspace! I think you will have good company with the other luthiers in the space as well as with graphic designers.

Sounds great! Are you going to steambend the wood for the banjos?

My first project is going to be made with a homegrown gourd but later on down the line (and a bit more woodworking experience) that’s definitely something I would like to try.

Do you have any experience in steam bending?

I do not but find it cool and something I’d like to try at some point.

We have steam bending and a few experienced members. I can show you what you need to know when you need to know it!
