Long Sighted Laser Lens - workaround

People have been reporting that the laser cutter isn’t cutting as well due to a damaged lens. Until we have a replacement, I’ve found a simple workaround. In the Cut settings, set the Z offset to +2mm. It automatically moves the laserbed down by 2mm and seems to improve the focus.

Or use autofocus (if lasertechs allow that)

How’s that done?

The arrows that control the bed height (up and down), press them at the same time and it’ll attempt to autofocus. It’s based on a known focal length of the lens, which seems like it is different to the previous working lens. Previously, auto focus wasn’t 100% accurate, so I imagine it might be better or might be worse using autofocus now.

It’s set up for a certain lens, notice the laser sensors on left and right, it’s a laser that points to the sensor - once the laser gets interrupted the bed stops moving upwards. Make sure the material is all the way one left top!
