If you were inducted on JobControl, but would like to learn Ruby, I have added a section on the Induction waitinglist for you.
Once there are enough names, I’ll run a session that just covers Ruby (i.e. skips the laser maintenance etc, because you covered that during your original induction).
Would you say this is an essential session for anyone needing to use the laser cutter?
In the short term, no.
Trotec haven’t said that they are discontinuing JobControl, and there are lots of members who can support others to use it.
It is fully functional at present.
In the long term, probably.
I can imagine that Trotec will only release new features and updates on Ruby.
Eventually the majority of members who use the laser will have been inducted/trained on Ruby.
When/if we replace the Laser PC, JobControl may not be available for installation.
