Hi, does anyone have any expertise in paint? I’m trying to restore a vintage fan and I need to a) understand what type of paint is best to use, b) preparation/sanding etc, and c) any primers and drying/heat needed.
Any help gratefully received! Thx

Is this paint on metal or wood? Depending on the era it’s from, you want to be really wary of lead paint. They make kits to test for lead content, but I think often it’s best just to paint over rather than sanding and potentially making lead dust.

It’s metal. Thanks - good advice. I might consider getting them sand blasted instead to reduce the risk
I’ve seen a couple of sand blasters in the space, though no idea of they’re operational or not…

Do you know if we need an induction for it?
Who knew! Any further advice on this would be great. Assuming no induction needed, I’m pretty sure YouTube will have plenty of vids.
