Hi! I’ve newly moved to London and am looking for somewhere with a CNC lathe that I can use to finish off some projects. Any idea where I could start? I see yours is manual
Yes ours is manual, you could suggest society of model & experimental engineers in Loughborough junction - not sure if they have a CNC lathe but they have lots of high end metalworking stuff that might be of interest to this person

CNC lathes are very specialised machines and are more suited for industrial production facilities more than a member-run makerspace. Depending on what is required, we may be able to give advice how to carry out the task with a manual lathe. If they have just moved to London, you can advise them to come by the space upcoming Wednesday for the open evening at 7pm to have a good look around.
SMEE has only manual machines, and a very strict workshop regime with 3 month probation…
@TracyD tell them that a manual lathe is totally capable of doing anything a cnc can, just have to learn how to properly operate it.
It might just be decades of work
