I’ve dyed shoes before that were part leather, part polyester and the synthetic bits didn’t take any colour at all.
Looked alright in that case, but I think dyeing synthetic fabrics is a bit of a nightmare with home dyes

As Sean said, you can’t dye polyester or most synthetics, but you can paint it with acrylic paint. As with anything the results will as be as good as the prep and time put into it - clean the shoes, make sure they are completely dry/dust/dirt free. Take car with the painting to avoid brush strokes (unless you want them!)
