I thought it was worth having a thread for people to share whatever they want to about the current situation in Ukraine: whether it’s fears, anxiety, outrage or anger, or ways to support either those within the country or the growing number of refugees, or perhaps eachother
We steer away from politics and religion as a rule, but we see humanitarian crises and potential threats to all of us as beyond all that
My friends are Ukranian and have set up a humanitarian aid point in Peckham. (See post below) this is for medical items that are difficult to get in Ukraine, they will be distributing them at the border in Poland. Top Priority items are in red.
“Biblioteka is setting up a Humanitarian Aid Donation Center for Ukraine in its library space in Peckham, London. We are focusing on life-saving items that are not easily available in Ukraine. The list can be found in the link below. Items collected will be delivered to the Polish border with Ukraine and from there will be distributed in the country.
Library will be open for walk-ins weekdays from 6:30pm - 10pm (starting from 3rd of March) and weekends 10am - 10pm. If you order online, you can put the Biblioteka address for the delivery.

The other day in the supermarket I decided to treat myself to new shampoo hair conditioner razors shaving gel etc in a attempt to make myself look slightly more presentable for some reason, only to discover this morning when I went off to have a bath that my flatmate has sent the lot to Ukraine.
I have a spare house I want to give it to a Ukrainian family, I probably won’t because I don’t have time is the admin at the moment anybody fancy helping
I have a friend in Ukraine. I gathered a bit of money and sent it his way since he was helping get people off the street, buying clothes, blankets, food etc. I haven’t heard from him in a while and it makes me worry.
