Ultimaker stoped printing

@3dtechs I used the Ultimaker today for the first time after my induction and after one hour in my print, the Ultimaker stopped printing. It still moved the nozzle but no filament came out. As I am quite a newbie I just aborted after 10min. I googled what could be the problem and it is probably that the nozzle is blocked. I will be still in the place for an hour. Is there a specific way to clean the nozzle and what is the best way to prevent this from happing the next time?
Thanks in advance
Karin

Hi Karin,

I’m not sure where nozzle cleaning tools are for the printer at the moment. It may be worth trying to unload the filament, trimming off a few inches and re loading as sometimes this can in block the nozzle. You can also try to manually advance the filament. I can’t remember the name of the setting exactly but is under the maintenance menu on the printer. I will not be able to come down untill Thursday so if the problem persists leave a note on the machine and I can look then. Sorry your first go didn’t go super smoothly!

Hi Sam,
Thanks for the fast response. I went through the material change process, trimmed and reloaded. All seem to work again. I won’t have time to do the whole printing today but hope to have another go next week. Did you have this problem before? Any tips on how to prevent it and an explanation of why it happened?
Thanks again
Karin

This could have been a blocked nozzle but there are a few other issues that can present in the same way. this could have been a bit of dust or debris that was on the filament and made it to the nozzle or a dirty extruder gear which keeps slipping and not gripping the filament properly. I will have a look when I’m in next but if it has resolved it’s self as you mentioned it should be ok from now on. The way I mentioned before is normally a good way to clear it as it drags the obstruction out. Any other method requires some level of dissasembly

May be the cause or unrelated, but the bed was not level
