Apologies if there’s another way to ask/check this, but will the space be open this Friday morning?
I was hoping to use some time off work to use the laser cutter, but the calendar doesn’t show anything for that day.

If there is no calendar entry then all that means is that no host has added an entry.
You can see if the shutter is up by looking at the green tick/red cross next to the calendar icon, but that won’t tell you how long it will be open, or if the laser is in use.
You can use discourse to ask someone to open at a specific time, and someone may be able to oblige.
If you can convince my wife I can host
