Winsew Help - top thread not staying in the needle

I’m trying to use the Winsew to finish off a project - but whenever i try and use it the top thread is pulled out of the needle.
What am i missing?

I’ve watched the induction video, and still at a loss.

Thanks

That happened to me when I was putting it through the final needle going in the wrong direction - can’t remember which way was correct but try the opposite one

I’m getting to the bottom of it…it’s not the top thread…it’s the bobbin…but I don’t know why.

It’s bunching up the bobbin thread under the material

@textilestechs I’m 3-4 stitches away from finishing a coat needed for Saturday. Are any of you free this week to help me out? will pay in cake and tea (and something stronger if needed) pleeding eyes

Sometimes that happens if the bobbin hasn’t been wound on properly. If you take the bobbin out of it’s case and rethread it that might help. Making sure the thread is wound onto the bobbin so it is very slightly tight. And make sure that the bobbin clicks in properly when you insert it. Also when you start machining make sure your needle is as high as it will go when you thread it and this should stop the needle un threading when you start and thread the needle from left to right. If nothing works also retread the top thread. For some reason that can help sometimes. If notthing helps I can come in tomorrow about 8pm if you are desperate.

Can i borrow you tomorrow please.

It shouldn’t take long once the machine is working (it’s 3-4 stitches)

Will happily bring any bribe…I mean gift…in thanks

Hey martyn! I can try to help, I should be in tomorrow until late afternoon!

What sort of time in late afternoon? I can get there for anytime after 4:30

Hi wondered if you managed to sort out the sewing machine.

We’ve manage to break it - the bobbin/bobbin cage is stuck :frowning: Shell’s been helping me, but we’re at a loss on how to fix it :frowning:

The earlier issue was because the wrong sized bobbin was used. The stitches were good.

However, later we discovered the Bobbin case got stuck in the machine and we could not remove it and didn’t want to forcibly do anything so we decided to stop.

Yes someone will have to remove some of the internal bits to get the bobbin out and if your not careful you can damage the timing of the machine so the needle doesn’t pick up the bobbin thread. Don’t try turning the handle to move the needle just incase it jams more. If you are still there please leave a note on the machine so no one tries to use it and we will get it fixed.
